This Singapore Standard is developed to meet the increasing demand from consumers for authentic organic primary produce. It was tailored to our local conditions and has encompassed the principles of organic agriculture (i.e. health, ecology, fairness, and care) for traditional organic farming, peri-urban and urban organic farming, breaking bulb and repacking of organic produce.
With organic produce making inroads into the mass market, this standard is developed with the intention to benefit industry practitioners in the organic primary produce sector, and in the process, ensure its widespread applicability by the industry thereby benefiting consumers in the long run.
This standard provides the requirements for primary produce such as grains, mushrooms, fresh vegetables, fresh herbs and fresh fruits and covering processes such as production, post-harvest practices, import, packing & re-packing, storage, transport and labelling of organic primary produce.
Due to the overwhelming response for the SS 632 workshop on 11 April, we are organising a 2nd run of the workshop on 1 June 2018.
In this 2nd run, there will be presentation on the overview of SS 632: 2017 on its organic requirements via case study presentations. Mr Terence Tan will present factors that need to be considered when setting up an indoor farm. The workshop will end with a farm tour.
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Venue: Singapore Manufacturing Federation, E1.5 Classroom, Level 1, 2985 Jalan Bukit Merah, Singapore 159457
